The Best Vegan Sweets

1. Millions

Millions are the tiny, sticky, but incredibly tasty sweets that come in a range of different eye-catching colours and flavours! From bubblegum to lemon, to even popular fizzy drink ranges like Coca-Cola and Vimto, Millions are the fun sweets that always satisfy a sweet tooth.

The even better news is that they are also entirely vegetarian and vegan friendly. Mostly made from glucose syrup, coconut oil, thickeners and sugar these products contain no animal byproducts like beef gelatine, which makes them a great choice for everyone.

2. Biona Organic Pomegranate Hearts

Biona’s Vegan Pomegranate Hearts are heart shaped jellies made with real pomegranate juice. They contain absolutely no artificial colours, flavourings or gelatine, and are instead made of 100% organic ingredients like raw cane sugar and glucose syrup.

Sustainable, flavoursome, vegan and gluten-free and bursting with natural taste these pomegranate hearts should come top of the list to be included in vegan pick and mix!

3. Candy Kittens

Candy Kittens are the brainchild of reality TV star Jaimie Lang and his business partner Ed Williams. The pair wanted to create a sweet shop that felt as good as it tasted, and so the entirely vegan Candy Kittens was born.

Not only are Candy Kittens products vegan and gluten free, they are also committed to sustainability by using recyclable packaging, and by their products being manufactured in carbon neutral farming environments.

Tangy, vegan and tasty, these products come in a range of mouth watering flavours like Eton Mess, Peach Fizz and Sour Watermelon, have no artificial colouring or flavourings and all contain real fruit juice.

4. Vegan Freedom White Vanilla Mallows

If you’re looking for the tastiest, gelatine and gluten-free, vegan marshmallows that taste even better than conventional mallows, then we have a treat for you!

Freedom Mallows are fluffy, light, sweet and completely gelatine free marshmallows that are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans. They have a buttery vanilla flavour and are only made with natural flavours and colours.

As well as being gelatine free, they are also fat, nut, dairy and Gluten free which makes them a great treat for those completely free-from. Creamy, delicious, velvety smooth they melt in your mouth and are perfect for toasting around the campfire.

5. Starbursts

Starbursts are another classic sweet that have been around for eons. Bursting with real fruit juice in every bite, there’s something satisfying about the way starbursts are both soft and chewy at the same time.

Previously known as opal fruits, Starbursts not only rebranded, they reejuventated themselves too by choosing to produce their sweets using only organic and natural ingredients, making them suitable for vegans and vegetarians. We can’t promise that you won’t have a fight on your hands to secure the heavenly pink ones, though.

6. Snact Apple & Raspberry Fruit Jerky

Previously jerky has always been associated as being a savoury product, but Snact decided they wanted to change that. Not only did they want to come away from the traditional using of animal by-products to make jerky, they wanted to make it healthy, sweet, and bursting with natural flavour.
And in their Apple and Raspberry fruit jerky, that's exactly what they did! This gummy jerky makes for a delicious fruit snack that is made from 100% fruit and absolutely nothing else.

Refreshing in the morning or afternoon, it can serve as a midday pick-me-up or a post-workout energy boost. With no added sugar, no additives, no preservatives, it’s a vegan sweet that doubles up as part of your five a day. Bonus!

If you need more midday pick-me-up snacks, check out our list of the best healthy vegan snacks to take to work here.

7. Skittles

Skittles have always promised us that we can taste the rainbow and these crispy, chewy, fruity sweets have always delivered.

In 2010 however, Skittles made the rainbow even sweeter by deciding to stop using beef gelatine in their products and instead begin using plant-based modified corn starch to retain the classic Skittles chew.

Delicious, fruity and just having celebrated a decade made from completely natural ingredients, you can now taste the rainbow and walk on it too knowing that Skittles are both vegetarian and vegan friendly.

8. Keats Gourmet Fizzy Carrot Gummy Sweets

Keats of London are actually a world-renowned famous chocolatier who are known for their rich, decadent  and luxury boxes of chocolates.

Whilst those may not all be vegan however, (though there are vegan options available) Keats also provide a luxury gourmet vegan sweets range alongside their chocolates. Made from only natural and organic ingredients, with no gelatine or added preservatives, these indulgent vegan sweets may be the priciest on the list but for good reason.

The featured carrot shaped gummy box contains carrot shaped gummies that pack a delicious zesty orange flavour, and are a perfect luxury gift for you, or your loved ones.

9. Jelly Tots

Jelly Tots are the childhood sweet that everyone has a soft spot for. Made from five colourful flavours, less than a mouthful and coated with tangy sugar on top of their encased sugar shell, these always satisfy a sweet craving and transport you back to childhood.

What makes them even better is that these tiny treats are made entirely from natural ingredients such as fruit juices and also contain organically sourced colours, which makes them ideal for sweet-toothed vegetarians and vegans.

10. Love Hearts

Fizzy but somehow sweet at the same time, Swizzels Love Hearts are another classic sweet that features steadily in any pick and mix worth having. Though they may have initially wanted to capture the valentines market, Love Hearts captured our hearts and stayed there thanks to continuing absolutely no animal products.

11. Swizzels Drumstick Chews

Since its initial outing as a lolly the humble drumstick has taken off, and now features in a whole range of products like Drumstick chews.

Unfortunately whilst the lolly itself is not suitable for vegetarians and vegans because of its blend of milk and raspberry, the drumstick chews themselves are vegan and vegetarian friendly.

That’s because these smooth, juicy and chewy bites contain no gelatine, and instead are made from natural flavourings to capture their original childhood taste.

12. Sherbet Snacks

It’s good news for fans of the fizz! Sherbet drops, sherbert lemons, flying saucers and sherbet dips are all completely vegan and vegetarian friendly.

The reasoning is of course that they are mostly made from sugar and the flavourings of the lemons are derived from fruit juices, whilst the flying saucers are made from rice paper. An accidental vegan treat, but one to indulge in if you really need a sweet toothed pick me up!

13. Fox’s Glacier Fruits

Fox’s Glacier Fruits are somehow a sweet that gets designated to long car rides and holidays, but they shouldn’t! These ice cubed shaped treats come in an assortment of different fruity flavours like strawberry, blackcurrant and raspberry, whilst their recent dark range even incorporates the tangy taste of liquorice.

Great for a light sweet treat, these glacier fruits are completely vegan as they only contain natural ingredients such as fruit juices, natural colourings and glucose syrup.

14. Fruit Pastilles

Fruit Pastilles are like the grown-up version of jelly tots and they’re the sweet you reach for when you really want to test your jaw muscles.

However, despite their chewiness Fruit Pastilles contain no gelatine and intertwine natural fruit juice and flavourings throughout their colourful assortment, making them a great choice for vegetarians and vegans.

15. Personalised Vegan Sweet Jars

Jars full of sweets have always been great gifts, and there’s no reason for vegans or vegetarians to miss out with these luxury personalised vegan sweet jars.

Containing the finest selection of vegan sweets, like chewy gummies, midget gems and vegan cola bottles, and presented in a glass jar with gold cap and pretty hand tied red ribbon, this little jar is bound to bring a big smile to a loved one with a sweet tooth.
