Pulsin Q&A
How’s life for you right now?
We are very lucky to be a part of such a great industry full of like-minded people who are genuinely passionate about the products they sell and the benefits they can bring to people. And what a great time for this industry it is. It feels like issues concerning health and environment are now making the headlines in the mainstream media more than ever before and people are now taking more of an interest in what they are eating, where it comes from and how it is made. Despite all the bad news out there, it’s very encouraging to see positive change happening too and it’s great to be part of it.
What might people not know about the brand ?
Our factory is 100% powered by wind energy. It’s not the cheapest option in pure financial terms but it’s renewable and the least expensive for the planet in the long term. Of course, none of this would be possible if it were not commercially viable but we embrace a more conscious approach to capitalism where decisions are driven by more than just the bottom line.
What are you top vegan lifestyle tips?
Batch cook to save time – although there are more and more vegan products coming to stores than ever before, the easiest way to know what is in your meals is to cook from scratch. There are lots of fantastic recipes on our website and batch cooking is a great way to ensure that you have lots of tasty meals available.
Make sure you stay on top of nutrition – the biggest vegan joke is around getting enough protein and although some vegans struggle with this, the vast majority eat from a wild variety of different protein sources including vegetables, rice, nuts, seeds and more! Instead it’s worth keeping an eye on your levels of Vitamin B12, calcium and omega 3’s instead especially if you are making the move to a vegan lifestyle for the first time.
Utilise the internet for information and a sense of community – the internet is a fantastic resource for recipes, new products, charities (such as Veganuary and Vegan Society) and for meeting like-minded individuals. Whether you are just starting your journey into veganism or have been vegan for a long time, there are always new things popping up to make your life easier. More example Plant Based News is a great resource for finding out about new products hitting supermarkets.
Check out vegan fairs and shows – we have always attended Vegfest amongst other events and these events and shows are a great opportunity to meet other vegans, find smaller vegan companies that are just starting out and to eat cruelty free cake!
Snacking is key – we’re not just saying this because we make a big range of snack bars but many vegans find they need to eat little and often so snacking can be important. Why not try our Raw Choc Brownies for an indulgent treat our Porridge Oat Bars for an on-the-go breakfast or our Protein Boosters for a protein hit during the day.
What exciting future news can you share with us, new products etc?
This year we released our first ever flavoured protein powders; Chocolate Pea and Vanilla Whey. We followed these up with a Salted Caramel Raw Choc Brownie and a Peanut Choc Protein Booster. We have some more exciting products coming soon, so keep an eye on our social media to be the first to find out more!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Love
